Jesus replied, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” Then he looked at those around him and said, “Look, these are my mother and brothers. Anyone who does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.” (Mark 3:33-35 NLT)
How do we decide who counts as ‘family?’
While we all have a biological family that we are called to love and look after, as Christians we also have a spiritual family - a family determines not by blood but by their shared devotion to Christ.
Are you a good member of your spiritual family? Do you encourage your brothers and sisters to live more like Christ? Or are you like Jesus’ biological family in this story: embarrassed by those who are sold out to living for Christ in this world.
Pray for your spiritual brothers and sisters today. And pray that you will be a godly influence on them.
