Mark 12 is full of memorable stories. It is easy to neglect the one that comes at the very end. Jesus sees a widow put two pennies into the offering and declares that she has given more than anyone else. Not because the amount was large - it was minuscule - but because her sacrifice was greater.
It often feels like we have so little to offer. Yet time and again Mark reminds us that the amount we have isn’t the issue. A God that can multiply loaves to feed thousands, who can cast out demons and raise the dead doesn’t need what you have - He can make more anytime He wants.
What He desires is you. When we serve, when we make offerings, when we spend time with Him, we are offering God what He most wants - our heart, our selves.
What will you offer Him today?
